Volunteer Roles
| Timer (Home and away meets) |
Timers are responsible for running the stopwatches during races. They may also be required to record the times. There are 3 timers per lane. |
| Head Timer (home and away meets) |
The head timer is responsible for starting 2 stopwatches at the beginning of every race. Should any timer have an issue with a stopwatch, they are to give the timer one of their 2 stopwatches. Basically the head timer is a back up. |
| Runner | Runners are responsible for collecting DQ cards from the referee and completed time sheets from timers. |
| Ribbons (home and away meets, 2nd half only) |
The ribbon worker gets the labels from the computer worker and places them on the appropriate ribbon. Ribbons are then placed in the folder of the swimmer who earned it. |
| Table Worker (away and home meets) |
The table workers work with the head table worker to review and verify times recorded by the timers. They are also responsible for placing labels on ribbons. Labels are printed by the computer workers. |
| Heat Winner (home meets only) |
The heat winner volunteer will be provided with small prizes to award to the winner of each heat. This person will need to watch each race and determine who won and let that swimmer pick a prize. |
| Water Bottles (home meets only) |
The water bottle volunteer will be provided with water bottles to distribute to meet workers throughout the course of the meet. It is especially important to make regular runs around the pool on very hot days. |

Clerk of Course Assistant (away and home meets) |
The Clerk of Course assistant is responsible for helping the clerk of course organize swimmers into the correct heats and lanes. |
| Computer assistant (away meets) | The computer assistant is responsible for helping the computer rep of the opposing (home) team with entry of swimmer times into the computer for final results. |
| Doughnuts and Chocolate Milk Served at practice day after meet aka FUN PRACTICE (needed for AWAY & HOME meets) |
This volunteer will be in charge of running to Kroger to purchase enough donuts and chocolate milk for the swimmers at practice in the morning. When the coaches are done handing out ribbons this volunteer will distribute the donuts and chocolate milk to the swimmers. |
